Yes, it's my first GIVEAWAY ever!!!!! I have a few extra copies of a book that I just read and LOVED and I wanted to share them with someone, so what better way than to do a GIVEAWAY !!! I don't think this will be a usual occurrence, but I love when other bloggers do them and so I thought I would too.
I just finished reading an amazing, inspirational tale of womanhood. I ordered a few of these little booklets ( only 26 pages) from the site Love To Learn . I sign up for their email specials and every so often they have some great books and deals. The booklet is called, When Queens Ride By written by Agnes Slight Turnbull in 1888. I had never read it before, but their description of the story got me hooked and so I ordered a few. Here is what they say about it:
"I have re-read this treasure countless times during my 33 years of marriage to help me remember how important it is to be the wife and mother God wants me to be! This charming, touching story will make you want to put a tablecloth on the table, brush your hair, and put on your lipstick right now. "

Awesome giveaway! I would have to say that virtue is a characteristic of great womanhood that I truly admire. The woman who inspires virtue for me is my mother! Once again...great giveaway!

One character trait that I love to see in great women is that of charity... the pure love of Christ. Being a mom isn't easy. It is the best occupation in the world! But it doesn't pay in money, and it is the hardest thing a woman could ever choose to do. There is no high paying job that compares!
When things are rough - and the kids act up - a great woman keeps a perspective that helps her to love her children, NO MATTER WHAT. As Christ put it, even the Pharisees are good to those who are good to them, or kind when others are kind - but a mother must be kind and loving even when her children make terrible choices, and are the most difficult to love. A woman of charity is patient, kind, and loving even when her children are their worst. She never tires of hugging, kissing and loving... even when she is rejected. She continues to have hope and faith in her children, and to see the best of them, even while they display their worst.
Sadly - there are many youth today who disrespect their mothers. It is almost commonplace for teens to use derogatory terms towards their mothers. Mothers work so hard and so much of what they do goes unnoticed. But a woman of charity will keep on serving even when there is no recognition. This is because recognition is not why she serves her family. She serves them because she loves them. They don't have to do anything to qualify for that love; it is given freely. And she loves them and retains hope and faith in them... always.
My mother is a woman of charity. She has been blessed, tried, and tested as a mother of 8 - but she loves us all as if we are perfect.

Thanks for the invite Ging! One characteristic of Great Womanhood I have learned and am passing on to my daughter and other mom's, young girls, and women I come in contact with is a Respect for Manhood. I feel that this Characteristic of Womenhood compliments family and everyday life in a way that I never experienced until recently. I learned this Characteristic from other great examples in my life, namely, My Stepmother, Carlean, and other strong women.
